Los Angeles, I'm Yours

I went to California. 3,400 miles, two airplanes, about five bucks and one suitcase thrown together with clothes I borrowed from Kelly: I'm in Los Angeles. If you ride a plane for the first time, going across the entire United States by yourself is an adrenaline rush that I assume is about the equivalent to that of a three day coke binge. Actually if it wasn't for the TV director I met in Charlotte, I would still be walking aimlessly around LAX trying to find my luggage. Pathetic. Of course, I didn't plan this in the least. Well, I did spend a good hour on finding clothes and a ride to the airport and friends to stay with in LA. Still, not much of a scheme. Honestly, I think E was more than a little drunk when he bought the ticket. Best gift ever. Props.
Today, I went to Hollywood Blvd and made my friend A look for the Katherine Hepburn star. We walked for about an hour before finding it. Then I went to this store and bought quintessential "tourist" things like a Hollywood key chain, heart sunglasses, and Marilyn Monroe postcards. Fun, fun. I've met some crazy people, ate at In-and-Out burger, and got stuck in rush hour traffic so I've had half of the experience. Now, I just have to go see Hedwig on the big screen, take a yoga class, and make a trip to Venice Beach and I will be officially... gone. Oh, and I think I might see J on Saturday...cool!
I went to a Chelsea Lately taping today and Katy Perry was the guest. She looked a lot hotter wearing that egg costume in Charlotte. Either way.. oh! and I totally gave Chuy a hug. I can't believe it's my last night here.

Gemini? Oh, that's better

Talking to a friend of mine that is some kind of off-the-wall mad scientist of a genius, I found out that because of the precession of the equinoxes (or something), I am technically not a Cancer. Cancers are, well, nothing like my personality. I know, I know: astrology is not a real science. But I honestly thought I was a Gemini from the very beginning, so when I found out that I am, it was... perfect. (Thank god I didn't get matching tattoos with you, J.)
Had too much fun this week. Went to a couple gay bars downtown with the "girls". Ha! They are adorable, though. After that, I went to Charlie Goodnights and watched this redneck comedian, haha. I did have fun. The new season of the Brooklyn Real World is great. There's absolutely no drama. Just this group of equally-interesting people. Sarah, the ex-lesbian artist, is my favorite. I'm in love with her arm tattoos. Oooo. But this show has inspired me. I can't wait for graduate school, maybe in New York.

Brave New Girl

The new year started off in the best and worst way possible. I found out that someone close to me is an inevitable train wreck. This made me think twice about decisions I was making in my own life. Then, I realized how much I truly need my sister around. Finally, I discovered that I'm a lot stronger than I've known. All of these new ideas conjured up over the span of an hour outside in a parking lot of an all-night hot dog stand in the ghetto back roads of Raleigh. Let's just hope it's not on YouTube. (By the way, it is but I can't find it, so if you do then PLEASE get up with me. Thanks.) At least I wasn't the only one that fought with my not-so-better half on New Years Eve.

Since then, life has been bland with exciting stuff to come. I'm enrolled in 18 credit hours of classes. Two of which I actually enjoy: Political Science and World Civilizations. I'll probably end up minoring in Pol Sci. I always liked Legally Blonde.

And, yes, that title is from a Britney Spears song.
